Avon Breast Cancer Awareness 40-mile walk, Chicago 2012
Here is Michelle with 3 of her friends that walked in the 2012 Avon Breast Cancer Awareness Walk. This would of been Michelle’s 4th year in a row to participate in this 40-mile 2 -day walk that raises money to make mammograms accessible to the underprivileged. You have to raise over $2,000 to walk in this event. Michelle has taken part in this same event in past years in Keystone, CO.
The beautiful kitchen cabinents from Eustons Hardware were delivered Thursday, and after 6 hours of measuring and making double sure everything lined up, Pete Buckley, Bob Gillcrist, Justin Stanley, and Paul Melland installed the first cabinent section. Pat Muller was busy in the garage working on the new window and the sub-flooring.
Stopped at the famous Corn Palace in Mitchell,SD on our way to Mt. Rushmore. Yes it is famous, no its not made of corn. But it does have beautiful mosaics made from corn on the exterior and interior walls.
The Renovation of the first floor of our house is moving forward ahead of schedule thanks to Pete Buckley’s project management skills, and the dedicated volunteer skilled crew that keep showing up Saturday’s 9am, Tuesday’s 6pm, and Thursday’s 6pm. Last Night Pete Buckley, Pat Muller, Justin Stanley, Bernie Schneider, Sam Swearngin, Scotts Buckley (Pete’s son) and I put in half of the 12″x2″ joists in what was once our 2-car garage, that will become our bedroom and bathroom. Thanks guys for a very productive evening.
Putting the final color on kitchen and dining area rooms.
Rhonda Doolan and Lori Huber started painting today at 8:30am. They will be painting the dining area and kitchen a color I can’t pronounce in eggshell. Rhonda was kind enough to bring a full tray of lasagna and bread leftover from her son’s college graduation party (Notre Dame) last weekend. Thank you ladies.
Eddie Cummings will start tiling the full bathroon today. The floor will be a white 1.5″ pentagon marble tile, and the walls will have a traditional 5″x2.5″ white subway tile. The floors will be heated as well. Thanks Eddie.
